Rohan from Atl, United Statesnice portrait image here. 26 Jun 2007 5:20am @Rohan: Thanks Rohan! It's all stage lighting. No flash, high ISO, Manual White Balance =) {H} creatives from Santa Clara, United StatesNice one Wendy! Great capture of Michael here - love the intensity of guitar playing that you've captured! B-) 26 Jun 2007 5:35am @{H} creatives: Thanks bro! Hey, did you get my email re your infrared D100? Just curious hehehe.... @Inés: Thanks Ines for your kind words! HorseRotorVator from Newton, United StatesOoooooooo! An acoustic guitar! I am going to have to check out this band! Great capture!!!! :) 26 Jun 2007 9:33am @HorseRotorVator: Yeah, definately Google them. They rocks! Bahar from Toronto, CanadaIt's difficult to shoot scenes like this, they move alot and the lighting is very tricky, you've captured it just right. well done! 26 Jun 2007 9:39am @Bahar: Thanks Bahar! It is easier if the stage lighting is powerful. I use spot light metering so it will read only from the face of the performer. No flash, ISO 800, 2.8 Apt and manual White balance of I think approx. 3700 K. Try it and experiment. I hope it helps =) Rahul from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaNice one Wendy, i just love the way the flash has lighted up this whole pic keeping the background appropriately dark and bringing out the subject so well. :-) 26 Jun 2007 10:22am @Rahul: Thanks Rahul! No flash here. For the settings, see my comments to Bahul. It's very interesting. With stage lighting and spot metering, you get the subject well lit and the background really dark. It's pretty neat, try it! Candace from Emmaus, United StatesVery nice. I have a hard time taking pictures of people who are in motion, but you have done a wonderful job with this. I guess I'll just stick to plants...they don't move. 26 Jun 2007 11:54am @Candace: You can do it too Candace, I believe in you! See my settings on my above comments to Bahul and try it =) Share with us the result ok?! Cheers! kairospix from Singapore, Singaporenice capture of the energy here! 26 Jun 2007 1:28pm @kairospix: Thanks! I got this angle to capture the sense of movement and energy =) @Johnny Soedomo: Thanks J! Lighting is freely provided by the stage hahahaha..... @Barbro / Picturecave: Thanks Barb! Red shirt against black background equals nice colors =) Levine from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaIve not cover events for quite some time. I miss taking shots like this, live performance, really challenging yet fun. Great one u have here. 26 Jun 2007 7:05pm @Levine: Thanks Levine! It's very challenging and risky! Thanks for your kind words =) Herve from Paris, FranceExcellent ! It is very difficult to get the right light and the right colours in a concert. You captured the expression of the musician at the perfect moment ! 26 Jun 2007 7:52pm @Herve: Thanks Herve! It's fun to get this one =) Daniel from Scranton, United StatesGreat event pic. I have never photographed an event but, this pic is making me think about how much fun you must have had. Great timing on this one. Daniel 26 Jun 2007 8:20pm @Daniel: Thanks Daniel! Event is a tough cookie but yes, it's fun! Cheers! @Rags: Thanks Rag! Stagelight is great for t his one =) Rahul from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaThanks Wendy, i really thought it was flash. Totally forgot that such shows have spot lights hehe.. I am yet to shoot one, will sure try it out. I guess its same fun like fashion photography, except in fashion photography the lights are dangling instead of being on the spot. I am going in for the next concert in town. ;-) Cheers. 27 Jun 2007 2:45am @Rahul: Now you make me wanna shoot fashion =) Rahul from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaHaha... you have tempted me to shoot the concerts, so i should make it even, right buddy!!! I will tempt you lot more on that hahaha.... Nah just kidding, i know sooner or later u will lay your hands on fashion shoots, and i am sure going in for the next concert in town. LOL!!!! 27 Jun 2007 5:26am @Ling: Thanks Ling for your nice words! |
